Course Details
This course is suitable for anybody who is, or intends to be food handlers.
A food handler is any person who handles food, whether open or packaged.
The food can include drinks and ice.

6.5hours (1x day)

- Food Safety Procedures
- Record Keeping
- Reporting Procedures
- Legal responsibilities
- The importance of personal hygiene and cleanliness in the work place
- Food Safety Hazards
- Types, sources, vehicles and routes of contamination
- Food preservation
- Temperature control
- Safe preparation, cooking, chilling and re-heating of food
- Safe holding and service of food
Outcome:
- At the end of the course successful delegates will be able to:
- Understand Individual responsibility within food safety procedures
- Understand the importance of Food handlers
- keeping themselves clean and hygienic
- Understand the importance of keeping the work areas clean and hygienic
- Understand about the contamination of stored and delivered food
- Understand how to prepare, cook, hold and serve food safely
Assessment is carried out by multiple choice examination.
Lunch Arrangements
We have Chip Shops, Sandwich Shops, Cafes and pub & restaurant options.
Lunch break is for 1 hour.
