Course Details
Both day 1 & 2, will be held in nearby Stottesdon at a training centre on a 30-acre site with suitable outdoor facilities for a day of outdoors practical scenario training.
The course provides the knowledge and confidence to deal with emergencies in an outdoor environment, including:
- Using an automated external defibrillator
- Managing choking
- Treating head injuries
- Treating injuries from falls, including spinal injuries
- Treating hyperthermia, sunburns, and dehydration
- Managing fractures outdoors
- Treating burns
- Treating common medical emergencies like asthma and anaphylactic shock
- Treating eye injuries
- Treating nose bleeds
- Roles and responsibilities
- Treatments for adults, children, and infants
- Dealing with collapse
- Environmental effects
- Heat and cold injuries
- Using a first aid kit
- Outdoor incident management
