Forest Schools First Aid

Course Details

This 2-day Forest School first aid course is designed for Forest School leaders and practitioners. Candidates will gain an accredited 3 year qualification and certificate. Accredited by FAIB these courses are HSE and Ofsted compliant.
 
Both day 1 & 2, will be held in nearby Stottesdon at a training centre on a 30-acre site with suitable outdoor facilities for a day of outdoors practical scenario training.
 
The course provides the knowledge and confidence to deal with emergencies in an outdoor environment, including:
 
  • Using an automated external defibrillator
  • Managing choking
  • Treating head injuries
  • Treating injuries from falls, including spinal injuries
  • Treating hyperthermia, sunburns, and dehydration
  • Managing fractures outdoors
  • Treating burns
  • Treating common medical emergencies like asthma and anaphylactic shock
  • Treating eye injuries
  • Treating nose bleeds 
 
  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Treatments for adults, children, and infants
  • Dealing with collapse
  • Environmental effects
  • Heat and cold injuries
  • Using a first aid kit
  • Outdoor incident management
