Portable Appliance Testing Training

Who is it for?
The course is suitable for those who wish to carry out PAT testing in their own workplace, or those who wish to carry out pat testing for others.

Length of Course:
6 x house (1 day)

Course Content:
  • You will be shown how to test a wide range of appliances commonly found in workplaces and how to find expert advice when an item fails
  • All legal requirements and relevant legislation is covered
  • An overview of latest IET Code of Practice as well as guidance from the Health & Safety Executive
  • Advice will be given on what records to keep
  • If you have your own PAT tester please bring it along
There will be a selection of Industry PAT testers for you to use on the day as well as advice on purchasing one if required.

Outcome:
At the end of the course successful delegates will be able to competently carry out PAT testing and any employer should reasonably be able to deem to you as the competent person.

Assessment:
Assessment is ongoing throughout the day. On successful completion of the course delegates will receive the certification. There is no expiry date on the certificate, however it is recommended that you keep updated with the latest regulations and attend a refresher if not doing PAT testing regularly.
