Course Content:
  • Legal requirements & fire safety regulations.
  • Fire risk assessments, principles and practice
  • Causes of fire
  • Fire Procedures
  • Fire spread characteristics
  • The procedures to be followed in event of a fire
  • How to liaise with the Fire Service on site
  • Identify with elements need to exist for fire to occur
  • Basic principles of fire extinction
  • Fire extinguishers and their correct usage
  • Evacuation procedures
  • Identify the four classes of fire
  • Correct use of all types of extinguishers
  • Which measures are designed to prevent smoke travel and fire speed
  • Understanding the need for fire safety and how to implements measure to protect yourself, colleagues and clients.

Wherever possible ‘live-fire’ practical fire extinguisher demonstrations will be carried out.

Assessment:
Assessment is carried out by a multiple choice examination.

On successful completion of this course delegates will be certified with a Cognet certificate of attendance.
