Wherever possible ‘live-fire’ practical fire extinguisher demonstrations will be carried out.
Assessment:
Assessment is carried out by a multiple choice examination.
On successful completion of this course delegates will be certified with a Cognet certificate of attendance.

Course Content:
- Legal requirements & fire safety regulations.
- Fire risk assessments, principles and practice
- Causes of fire
- Fire Procedures
- Fire spread characteristics
- The procedures to be followed in event of a fire
- How to liaise with the Fire Service on site
- Identify with elements need to exist for fire to occur
- Basic principles of fire extinction
- Fire extinguishers and their correct usage
- Evacuation procedures
- Identify the four classes of fire
- Correct use of all types of extinguishers
- Which measures are designed to prevent smoke travel and fire speed
- Understanding the need for fire safety and how to implements measure to protect yourself, colleagues and clients.
