Cleobury Mortimer Chamber of Trade have secured the the help of Peter Roper (Positive Ground Ltd) to run a series of networking events here at the Cleobury Country Centre, starting on Tuesday 21st February at 6pm. These will run on a monthly basis – on the third Tuesday of each month starting at 6pm. These sessions will be a two hour session including a business building session each month specifically concentrating on how to gain more business for our local companies plus the opportunity to network and create relationships.

The new year has brought plenty of people in wanting to get their qualifications updated in First Aid, Food Hygiene and Health and Safety, so very busy booking courses.
We’re running:-
First Aid at Work 2 Day Refresher course on 23rd and 24th Feb.
First Aid at Work 3 day course on 21st to 23rd March
Emergency First Aid at Work 1 Day course on 15th Feb.
Dates due for Food Hygiene Level 2 and Paediatric First Aid.

Peter Rabbit Nursery came to the library this morning and took part in the the Christmas Crafting session and made some lovely decorations for our Christmas Tree.

The library also held a poster competition which was judged by Mr Amps from Lacon Childe School, and the lucky winner was Evie Adams, well done Evie!

The Library will be closed for Christmas from Wednesday 21st December and will re-open on Tuesday 3rd January, please note that there will not be a librarian on duty till Wednesday 4th January.

The computers in the library are full today as the schools are closed to the children, but despite the Library staff being on strike there are plenty of people using the library. 

We’ve got a full class for the Emergency First Aid at Work course today, all from local businesses and a full class also at the Pioneer Centre for a 3 day Health & Safety Class.  And we’re rounding the week off with a one day Health & Safety course here at the Centre. 

Dont forget that the library have their Christmas poster cometition and that the opening hours for Christmas are:-

Closing  on Wednesday 23rd and re-opening on 3rd January.

I can’t believe how quickly the year is passing, November’s  here already.  This month is very busy at the centre, cramming in courses before the Christmas weeks are upon us,when of course, no-one wants to attend any and they get right into the christmas spirit!!!

the Emergency First Aid at Work course on the 30th November is now fully booked and we have scheduled another for the end of January – weather permitting! 

There’s 2 places left on the Food Hygiene Level 2 course on 24th November, so if you’re interested, get in touch sooner rather than later.

For all you Child Minders and Nursery School Teachers and helpers, we’ve got a Paediatric First Aid course running at the end of November over 4 evenings, but have only a limited number of places left, so again, get in touch quickly.

We’ve got a Health & Safety and a Practical Risk Assessment course running during the first week of December, and if you’d like any more details on these or any of the other courses – call the centre.

And inbetween all that lot we’ve the schools in for their Diploma in Business Studies course, The community Council for Shropshire with thier Volunteer Forum, South Shropshire Holiday Farms and their social media sessions and Sure Start with a series of sessions for mothers and toddlers/babies. Phew!!!

The temperatures on the up, the England Rugby team ares till winning and all is busy at the Centre!!!

We staged another very successful Emergency First Aid course yesterday, attended by 5 different local companies,all now qualified for the next 3 years.  Tonight, the LJC Community Chest Appraisers meet to deliberate over the applications for grants from local organisations.  And, on Thursday we’ve got another Fire Safety Awareness Course running from 9.30am to 12.30pm, which has a practical section for the students to practise letting off fire extinguishers!!  There’s a Volunteer Drop-In Session from 10-12 in the Library with Clive, if anyone would like to volunteer but doesn’t know where their time would be best spent.

We’ve also booked some dates for a Paediactric First Aid course which will be on the evenings of 28/29 November and 5/6 December.  All the sessions will be staged here at the Centre from 6-9pm at a cost of £95 per head. 

Come on England on Saturday!!!!

Busy, busy, busy,…..

Business Link Clinic on tuesday for local businesses to come and get some free advice and guidance from a Business Link advisor.

A 3 day First Aid at Work course starting on Tuesday and running over Wednesday and Thursday, all ful and being attended by local businesses.

Hi all,
I’m so glad the summer months are over…..people are booking on courses and we can resume our normal opperations!
This week sees us staging a Paediatric First Aid Course at Cleobury Mortimer Primary School over the next 4 weeks. No courses at the centre this week but on Sunday we do host the Envirnmental Champions Day, which is preceeded  on Saturday by Open Homes for the Environment. During Saturday, households & businesses will be open for people to find our more about renewable energy and sustainability from first hand experiences and on Sunday, those households and business’ are rewarded for their efforts!
We hope that everyone enjoyed last weekends frivolities and that good money was raised at the Bike Show, The Tastes of Cleobury and Cleobury Rugby Club’s 20th Anniversary.

Whooo hoooo! 

at last of 6 weeks of monitoring the kids on the computers in the library, I’m very relieved that school starts tomorrow!!!!

We can now get back to running courses and renting out our training and meeting rooms. 

And to kick things off we’ve got a full Food Hygiene course running tomorrow at the centre.  Lacon Childe School return on Wednesday to start the second year of their Business Diploma course and on Thursday, local business, Kudos Blends celebrates its openday here on Thursday.

And finally on Saturday we’ve got our Tastes of Cleobury Country Event from 10am to 1pm running at the Market Hall in Cleobury Mortimer, The Bike Show at Lacon Childe School on Saturday and Sunday and Cleobury Mortimer Rugby club celebrates its 20 years of existence on Saturday at 1.30pm.

All proving that Cleobury Mortimer has lots to offer!!!
